Dr. Samson A. Bezabeh
Samson A. Bezabeh is an Africanist with a focus on religion and state-society interaction. Research interest and focus include Islamic reform, Arab diaspora formation, Christianity and Christian state cosmologies, colonial and postcolonial state formation as well as issues of citizenship, ethnicity and class in Africa. In terms of regional focus Samson’s work concentrate on the Horn of Africa particularly in the Republic of Djibouti and Ethiopia where he has conducted research over a period of 10 years. His geographical focus also include the area of Somalia and southern Arabia particularly the southern part of Yemen. Samson has published numerous articles in peer reviewed international journals and has recently won the African author prize from the high ranking journal African Affairs .
